Names at the ballet and reading my mind

We recently had the opportunity to attend Kennedy's (our granddaughter) ballet recital. As we waited for things to begin I was perusing the program and taking note of interesting names. One of the first names in particular caught my attention: October. I turned to Alynda and said, "Look at this name...if this young lady had red hair, and ever got lost..." Before I could finish my sentence she said, "it would be the hunt for red October!" I guess that is a sign of how long we've been married. Alynda can figure out my sick humor before I even utter it!

My Dad

So, I am Jen...Bruce's daughter. I told him he needed to make this blog so the rest of us could enjoy a chuckle or a groan on a regular basis, because let's face it...Dad is funny, or should I say "punny?" So, enjoy the musings of Bruce, and be sure and stop by often!

Retro Pun

You may have noticed that McDonald's is putting McCafes in their restaurants - coffee bars selling drinks similar to Starbucks. Mickey D's is attempting to compete with Starbucks in the coffee biz in a big way. I have a little ABC News video clip I use in my business strategy class that prompts some interesting discussion on McDonalds' competitive efforts. One of the questions I ask is, "OK, what should McDonald's do to make certain they are successful?" In class, on the day we were discussing this one student said, "I think McDonald's should acquire all of the other coffee companies, so there are no more competitors besides Starbucks." I said, "So, if they really did that, would they be considered McQuisitions?"

Bruce's Pun O' The Day

Today I was visiting with my daughter and son-in-law and we were reminiscing about last week's pun. My son-in-law mentioned that I should write a book about puns. To which I replied, without hesitation, "We'll call it 'Once Upun a Time!'"
